Lv1

Grants the user a dragon strike while shapeshifted as Chronos Nyx. This dragon strike deals damage to the target and has three increasingly powerful charge levels.

Also while shapeshifted as Chronos Nyx, remaining shapeshift time will be depleted by standard attacks, dragon strikes, and skills instead of being depleted automatically over time. In addition, if the user is able to dodge when they are hit by an attack, they will consume some of their remaining shapeshift time and automatically dodge the attack. Some attacks cannot be dodged in this way. (Might: 200)

Notes

Dragon Time Gauge and Actions

Chronos Nyx's dragon time gauge does not deplete over time, but instead per action. In this sense, it is less like a timer and more like a gauge of points that can be spent.

  • Nyx will calculate a cost value (we'll call it "C") based on his base dragon time (7.1 sec at lv1 bond, 10.0 sec at lv30 bond). C = 0.05 * (base dragon time).
  • A full gauge without any dragon time boosts therefore holds 20 C, regardless of Nyx's dragon bond level (the implications of bond will be discussed later).
  • Performing a combo tap, dragon strike, or the automatic dodge costs 1 C. Performing the dragon skill costs 10 C.
  • Dragon Time boosts will increase the amount of C that Nyx holds in his gauge. For example, a 50% dragon time boost will increase Nyx's gauge capacity from 20 C to 30 C (20 * 1.5 = 30). This works similarly to the Dragon Duration Formula.
  • Dragon Time Depletion Delay, such as from Icon Ability 1020031.png Dragonlight's Resolve III, does NOT affect Nyx, as it only affects depletion over time. Nyx depletes per action, not over time.
  • Numerical Dragon Time increase, such as from Icon Ability 1010003.png Exhilaration, is more effective at lower bond level than higher bond level.
    • Let's suppose we have 2x 210094 01.png Pop-Star Siren on a team, granting a total of +5 seconds of dragon time to Nyx.
    • At lv1 bond, C = 0.355 (7.1 * 0.05 = 0.355). Therefore the total C in the gauge is 34 C (7.1 sec + 5 sec = 12.1 sec, then 12.1 / 0.355 = 34)
    • At lv30 bond, C = 0.5 (10.0 * 0.05 = 0.5). Therefore the total C in the gauge is 30 C (10 sec + 5 sec = 15 sec, then 15 / 0.5 = 30)

Dodging

  • Chronos Nyx's automatic dodge can avoid most purple attacks, which is something that normal dodges cannot do.
    • The automatic dodge cannot avoid attacks that are intended to wipe the entire party with 99,999 damage. But if the attack only targets one party member, such as 99,999 damage Mortal Chaser in Tartarus, Nyx can dodge that.
    • The automatic dodge cannot avoid attacks that Disrupt Shapeshift, even if they are red attacks.
    • Most other attacks should be fair game.
  • The automatic dodge costs 5% of base dragon time (1 C) per use.
  • Nyx cannot auto dodge while charging his dragon strike.
  • Icon Ability 1020041.png Reflexive Evasion (RE) does NOT work on Nyx at all.
    • If a red attack would hit Nyx, he will auto-dodge instead and not consume a stack of RE.
    • If Nyx is charging his dragon strike (therefore unable to auto-dodge), RE will not be consumed, and Nyx will instead take damage.

Misc

  • If Nyx actually takes damage (from something he doesn't dodge), his dragon time will be depleted depending on the amount of damage taken - just like a regular dragon.
  • In Dragon Battles during Onslaught Events, Nyx will consume HP rather than dragon time. He can deal lethal damage to himself this way.
